Conversation by Joni Mitchell

Tabbed: June 1997

This one is a good one, done by Harlan L. Thompson. It's pretty easy chord-wise, just watch the timing with your strumming; that gets a little tricky. I only changed a few minor things like adding a few extra chords (like the open "D" after the Dsus4 in the intro and elsewhere) and a several different chord placements; otherwise, it was perfect!

Secrets and sharing soda, that's how our time began
Love is a story told to a friend, it's secondhand
But I'll listen to his questions, I'll give my answers when they're found
He says she keeps him guessing, but I know she keeps him down
She speaks in sorry sentences, miraculous repentances
I don't believe her
Tomorrow he will come to me and speak his sorrow endlessly
And he'll ask me why————Why can't I leave her?
